Grey Box coffee, YinTai center

Being a coffee addict, i had to check out the new GreyBox coffee that opened in the YinTai center in99 mall in Chengdu.

The store faces the inner courtyard of the mall, it also has a nice patio area. The decor is very minimalistic paired with cool tones and metallic surface.

One the biggest reasons i have not been drinking lattes in china is the quality of the milk. I am not sure why but the milk just does not taste the same and after it's been frothed, it doesn't get the same consistency and smell as milk from back home. Greybox solved this problem by using "imported Australian milk" it comes at a hefty price tag of around 10 USD per latte but hey, let's give it a shot.

Barista did a good job with the shot pulled and the microfoam for the milk

A nice place to hang out and coffee quality is good for China standards. There are also a selection of freshly squeezed juices and pastries. You can also choose from two types of espresso

1. single origin ( more sour)

2. blend , i chose this one and still found it to be on the sour side and lacking complexity of flavors.

I would not come back given the okay coffee for such a high price tag but if you're looking for a chic spot to hang out in Yintai in99 mall, drop by.
